Planetary Gear Fidget, 4 Designs

Pick the gear you want to turn. The herringbone planetary is a ring gear with four herringbone planets around a sun, a turning knob, and a carrier plate; the angled teeth keep the planets from walking out of mesh. The planetary gearbox is the smallest of the four, a ring, base disc, three-arm carrier, and pinions that stack into one working planetary stage. Fidget gears is the pocket piece, a palm-sized body with two meshed spur gears underneath, so turning one turns both. The 4:1 gear ratio demo is the classroom piece, a large wheel and a small pinion on a mounting bar: four turns of the pinion move the wheel around once. All four print in PLA in your choice of color.
