Matching the original's strength
Replicating a part means matching its job, not just its shape. We adjust wall thickness, infill, and print orientation so the replacement is as strong as, or stronger than, the original where it counts. A clip that snaps along a stress line, for example, prints best oriented so the layers run with the load rather than across it.
Recreating a part without a file
This is the question we get most: "I have the broken part, but no design file. Can you still help?" Usually, yes. We can work from:
- The original part, even if it is in pieces, to measure and recreate
- Detailed photos with a ruler or caliper for scale
- Measurements you take yourself of the part or the empty mounting point
- The make and model of the item it came from
- An existing 3D file if one exists
The more reference we have, the more exact the result. A broken original we can measure directly gives the best outcome, but careful photos and measurements get us a long way.
