How we recreate a part
You do not need engineering drawings to get a replacement. We work from whatever you have.

From there we build an accurate model, often improving the weak points of the original along the way. If a part always cracks at the same boss or thin wall, we can thicken it, add a fillet, or switch to a tougher material so the replacement outlasts the original.
Material choice for replacement parts
Matching the original plastic is not always the goal. The goal is a part that does the job and lasts. We pick material based on what the part actually endures.

Notice PLA is absent. It is a great display and prototype material, but it softens in heat and creeps under load, so it is the wrong choice for a working spare in a warm shop, a hot vehicle, or a sunny window. For real replacement parts, we use engineering plastics.
Improving on the original
A nice side effect of recreating a part is the chance to fix it. Original manufacturers sometimes design plastic parts to fail so you buy more. When we rebuild a part, we can reinforce known weak points, add metal threaded inserts where screws keep stripping, or move to a stronger material entirely. The replacement often ends up better than what it replaced.
